Avella Area School District: Flexible Instructional Day (FID)
Guidelines for Avella Parents/Guardians/Students
Avella Area will be utilizing Flexible Instruction Days (FIDs) which may be used in place of a school day that would be canceled due to inclement weather or another emergency situation. On a Flexible Instruction Day (FID), students will complete learning activities and assignments provided by their teachers at home.
The District can use up to five(5) FIDs per school year. FIDs are considered a school day and will not require additional make-up days when school is canceled. If school is canceled and not designated a FID the district will need to make up the days.
If the District calls for a FID, how will I know?
Students and parents/guardians will be notified of a FID through the district notification system in the same way that school closings and delays are announced. Notifications will also appear on the Avella social media pages (Twitter: @AvellaArea and Facebook: @AvellaSD).
