Avella Elementary Center SOAR Summer Academy
Students were treated to a Sundae Party at the end of SOAR. This was to celebrate their hard work and dedication during this time. Sundae Party Sundae Party Sundae Party Several staff members worked SOAR Summer Academy to make it a terrific experience for our students. Sundae Party The students enjoyed time socializing with friends of all ages. Each day students had the opportunity to have snack at SOAR. It provided time for students to socialize and recharge for the second portion of summer school. Avella Elementary Students showed great spirit and enthusiasm while in attendance at summer school! Kid Writing was completed daily in grades Kindergarten and first. Kid Writing opportunities promote creativity along with instructing appropriate writing skills. The theme for Kindergarten and First grade focused on daily nutrition and health. Students working in their kid writing journals. Proud accomplishments! Math was also instructed during summer school. These students are using playing cards to reinforce three digit subtraction skills. The fourth and fifth grade classrooms also used playing cards to work on multiplications skills and word problems. We love seeing them work together and build critical thinking skills. Teamwork is a great way to get to the answer. I look forward to seeing each of the students at the beginning of the school year.
