Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the Avella Elementary Center.  Since June of 2015, I have had the pleasure of being the Elementary Principal at Avella.  Our faculty and staff are excited to establish the building blocks for your child’s education.  The Avella Elementary Center is a place where we foster innovative thought and student growth, as well as, coaching young students to become great citizens.   In conjunction with the families, community members and school staff, we want to work together to promote our students the best way possible.  Exposure to authentic learning opportunities, encouraging a growth mindset for all students, and establishing school pride are all areas that our faculty and staff inspire our student body.  At Avella Elementary, we believe in teaching to the whole student.

It is our goal to develop young, thoughtful, independent thinkers, who can challenge and diagnose real world issues, while maintaining the vision of an overall objective.  We strive to provide multiple opportunities for students to reach their potential in a warm and welcoming school environment.  We are committed to providing challenging learning opportunities for all students.

My teaching career began as a Secondary Social Studies and Science teacher at Avella Jr./Sr. High School in 2011.  I completed my Master's Degree from California University of Pennsylvania in early 2014.  Currently, I am completing my Educational Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh.  I am happily married to my wife, Leah, and we have a son named Jack.

I am excited for the 2020-2021 school year and to be the Principal at Avella Elementary.
